Former AFL star Carl Ditterich, 79, will stand trial for historical child sexual abuse charges dating back to August 1985. The former St Kilda and Melbourne player is accused of sexually assaulting a girl under 16 in a parked car after purchasing alcohol.
The Melbourne Magistrates' Court heard evidence from the victim's diary, a key part of the case. Ditterich, who played 285 games and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004, faces three counts of indecent assault and one of gross indecency. The trial is scheduled for November 18.
